I’ve loved taiko drumming since I saw my first show in San Francisco’s Japantown during the Cherry Blossom Festiva<\/a>l. I tried to catch every taiko concert I could but I hadn’t seen any shows since I moved to Montreal.<\/p>\n I finally got to see a great taiko performance<\/a> tonight at the Festival International des Percussions<\/a> in the Vieux-Longueuil. Montreal’s Arashi Daiko<\/a> ensemble offered a great 45 minute show and the crowd loved it. The energy one feels after such a concert!<\/p>\n You have to be pretty dedicated<\/a> to learn taiko drumming so I’ve never managed to find classes just for curious amateurs.
