Laura Fraser explains very well why I stopped being a vegetarian (which I was for about 4 years during my twenties).
I also agree with the arguments in Why it is rude to diet in public.
I am reading Laura Fraser’s An Italian Affair, a memoir I am enjoing very much and recommend to everybody, even if you’ve never had your heart broken, been to Italy and/or had an affair with a sophisticated married man.
I had read the first few chapters of this book when they were first published in Salon years ago. It’s full of talk about food, men, travel, sex, San Francisco and Italy. Makes me feel carnivorous.
