The best moments of our lives

Richard Linklater has directed a sequel to Before Sunrise, a movie I really enjoyed at the time it came out (1995). It wasn’t so much the romance I cared about. I hadn’t seen a movie that described so well the pleasure of traveling, feeling young and free (and too serious), and talking your head off with a smart, attractive boy with whom you have a lovely one night stand. Too bad the trailer for the sequel is working the full clichs such as « what if? » « the one that got away ». Bleh!

« We always think that the best moments of our lives are going to be these dramatic things, but really, sometimes, a nice breakfast with a good friend is the most fun you’ll ever have. »

Ethan Hawke, in an interview about the new movie, Before Sunset.

Man, we’re getting old…
