As I was lying in bed last night, finishing a book, the mattress started vibrating strangely. Hmmm. Big truck in the street? The fridge downstairs about to explode? Quake? Nah. It’s shaking for too long. Quakes tend to be short, right?
I lived in San Francisco for 8 years and never really felt an earthquake. I had to move to Montreal to experience the real thing.
