-Learn taiko drumming.
I’ve loved taiko drumming since I saw my first show in San Francisco’s Japantown during the Cherry Blossom Festival. I tried to catch every taiko concert I could but I hadn’t seen any shows since I moved to Montreal.
I finally got to see a great taiko performance tonight at the Festival International des Percussions in the Vieux-Longueuil. Montreal’s Arashi Daiko ensemble offered a great 45 minute show and the crowd loved it. The energy one feels after such a concert!
You have to be pretty dedicated to learn taiko drumming so I’ve never managed to find classes just for curious amateurs. Ah but one day, one day, I might give it a shot.
