( Smiling )
Is that because of the language barrier, or because of the male/female barrier? ;)
Good question!
In this specific case he said that because I blurted out something crazy, in French, with a very expressive face and a big silly smile. I like the idea of speaking to him directly without him having any idea what I’m saying. It’s a weird kind of couple therapy. I should blog about that. ;-)
I asked him what he thought of your question and he said that he thinks we don’t have much male/female barrier problems. That’s refreshing!
To be clear, most of the time when you speak French to me I understand you completely. But every now and then (which is to say, several times a day) you blurt out some silly rhyme from your childhood or some crazy song that I’ve never heard of, and all I can do is bug my eyes out and say « Huh??? »
Blork, do what my Herb does: smile and nod (and ir required, back away slowly). and be glad that you have no child, because now the Kid and i share some silly francophone culture bits, so Herb is stuck with two people rolling on the floor laughing while he scratches his head (hmmm that might explain his bald spot…).
