Top guns of Montreal

Technorati – the site that everybody loves to hate – has a new feature where you can search for blogs by category, on specific subjects.

I checked out the page, called Blog Finder (in beta), and decided to do a search for Montreal.

It claims that the results are sorted by « authority ».

Result number 1: The guy who shares my house
Result number 2: The guy who takes great care of Yulblog
Result number 3: The guy who takes great photos
Result number 4: The guy who just moved out of Montreal

Nice top line up. All cute Montrealers. Not very many women, as far as I can tell. It works with tags so I guess the girls need to get busy with the tagging business.

Jean-Pierre Cloutier notices that there are no francophone blogs listed and that the method used for choosing the blogs is not explained.

Oh well. At least I know they got the top guy right. ;-)

Edited: There’s actually a bit more information about how Blog Finder works here.

  1. How about the guy who moved out of Montreal many years ago…? I guess he didn’t make the list ;)

  2. I actually came here through the blog finder, tag – writing.
    Plaisir de faire votre connaissance.

  3. Je vois apparaitre
    petit petit le terme
    tag.
    C’est dcid je vais faire
    une recherche pour savoir
    ce que c’est.
    Cordialement

  4. This post made me realize that I have been a very bad ‘net citizen and that my list of links really needed upgrading.

  5. J’ai fait une recherche, mais en entrant « Montral » avec un accent et c’est Karl qui arrivait en premier…

  6. Je ne croyais pas que Technorati reconnaissait les accents!

Me voici donc sous Karl. Euh enfin, vous voyez ce que je veux dire…

  7. Looks like Technorati has just gone through some major clean-up in their old links. Zeke is now the top dawg.

  8. Yeah, I don’t know what happened. I used to have near 500 links from about 300 sites, or something like that. It’s a mystery… ;-)
