Casting call

I just spent an hour on the phone with the producer, talking about possible actors and actresses for the screenplay I just turned in. This has to be one of the perks of being a screenwriter, like the icing on a cake that took a long, long time to rise.

A lot of it is silly chatter: « Kiefer? Oh, I don’t know… He always plays the cop. » I cannot tell you how weird it is to drop these names in a conversation and realize that they might actually be asked to play the role and accept it. I saw a movie on DVD recently and I loved one of the actors (who happened to be very good looking and talented). I looked him up on IMDB, saw that he was Canadian and called the producer right away to suggest him as one of the two main characters. She loved the idea, read the script with him in mind and will eventually contact his agent. Just like that. Well, there’s also a director to consider, then funding, then salary and schedule, but still…

So dear friends, who would be a good English Canadian actress who could play an attractive (of course) thirty-something, computer wiz and hacker at heart, who now works as a fed in the technological crime field?
