Sorry about the strange font on my blog: I made a post without touching my template and somehow a new tag seems to be automatically added by Blogger that screws up the font and makes it larger. Can’t seem to be able to fix this and I’m waiting to hear back from Blogger…

Hopefully I’ll be able to fix this soon. In the meantime, be grateful you don’t need your reading glasses anymore.

Nous avons d� dire aurevoir au vieil ami de Ed hier apr�s-midi. Pas facile de voir un animal qu’on aime �tre dans une d�tresse pareille. Pas facile de voir l’homme qu’on aime faire des aurevoirs � briser le coeur.

J’ai h�te de chasser de mon esprit cette image d’un Spiff souffrant et �puis�. Heureusement que nous avons beaucoup de belles photos de lui.

Ian McEwan’s Atonement is being adapted for the big screen and it’s making the news in the U.K.

It’s the same production company which adapted another McEwan novel, Enduring Love. Not an easy book to adapt and the result wasn’t without its flaws but the performances were great. The famous opening scene though, with the hot-air balloon, was as powerful as it was in the book.

Christopher Hampton, who wrote the great adaptation of Dangerous Liaisons, is working on the screenplay for Atonement. That’s reassuring.
