Fever and daytime television

There’s a sick man on my sofa today, sitting with a throw over his lap, slightly feverish and delirious. He’s watching the food channel while he sniffles every five seconds.

-Wow, this woman just made an amazing shepherd’s pie out of a lampshade!
-What?
-Yeah, she cooked it in there and just removed it when it was done.
-She made a pie in a lampshade?
-Huh?
-You said she made a pie in a lampshade.
-No, no, it was lamb shank. That the stuff you use in osso bucco.
-I thought osso bucco was veal?
-It is.

I left the living room when he switched the tv to the Showcase Diva channel where they were playing a movie called: Make mine Chartreuse…

YULblog before YULtide

Slick new look for YULblog‘s home, thanks and congrats to Patrick, monsieur Web extraordinaire! Now if I could only figure out how to participate in YULMetaBlog… (Edit: I just figured it out, using the form, but I wish I could do it automatically.)

YULblog is a list of bloggers based in the Montreal area. Everybody is invited to join the monthly gathering the first Wednesday of every month at La Cabane, a restaurant and bar on St-Laurent, across from Schwartz’s, the famous smoke meat place (which is putting together a Web site, by the way).

Stop by tomorrow night around 8pm. The only rule is that there are no rules! It would be nice to get a big turnout before the holidays. Et ceux qui ne se sont pas montr� la binette depuis plusieurs mois sont particuli�rement encourag�s � se d�placer…
