Is it safe to dance?

What’s with the « big boys going wild on video » meme? Is this kid doing the Safety Dance (linked via Vieux Bandit) trying to imitate the now famous Star Wars Kid? Unlike Ghyslain, the most famous qubcois on the Web right now, I don’t feel like this Safety Dance Boy deserves an iPod. What is he going to load on it anyway? Men Without Hats greatest hits? Yikes…

Relax, don’t do it

We all know playing video games is a very relaxing activity, right? So why do these guys sound so mad? Want more? Here’s the same cursing player, with a techno music background. (Linked via Wired News, and My First Mine, and quite a few others.)

I’m sure this is going to remind you of somebody you know, maybe even yourself. Rachel, do you sound like this when you play one of your games?

By the way, I was able to find specific links to these video and sound files by searching with Waypath, a new search tool I first heard about on Idle Words, a blog maintained by Maciej Ceglowski. This is how Maciej describes Waypath on his blog:

The Waypath Project is worth a visit because they are trying to do two very challenging and cool things. The first is, provide a per-post weblog search, rather than the kind of per-page search you can get on Blogdex or Google. The second is to search things based on similarities in content, rather than just doing keyword matches. This is the kind of stuff I’ve taken to calling ‘semantic indexing’, just to completely muddy the semantic waters.
